1) Sister Betty Ann opened the meting with a prayer for our guidance and help with the serious decisions in the next several
weeks and for all those who are working to save the church.
2) The minutes of the meeting of September 27th were reviewed. The rejection of the rental proposal for the rectory made
by Michael Valiquette to Msgr. Beach was discussed and alternative actions were proposed.

The Postcards have been distributed this last weekend with Steve Rose and several assistants in the lowertown
area. The letters to the parishioners requesting that they come to church as it is open have been prepared. It will be announced
at the masses for individuals to pick them up in addition to others that may be on their streets or area.
The Saturday Make a Difference scheduled for this Saturday will be cancelled. no notice was given in the
bulletin or at the back of the church signup was made last Sunday.
The Roof was discussed. A consultant has been hired to complete the documents for tender and specifications.
Discussion continued regarding the materials. A metal roof may be too expensive and we will look at options - fiberglass.
The present tiles will have to be removed. We have limited window of time and it is imperative that we get a decision immediately
from the Archdiocese regarding the expenditure.
The Chair then read a letter from the Ontario Heritage Trust, (copy to St. Brigid's) stating non-compliance with
the Easement. Delays in the roof repair or replacement will result in more damage and more expense. The Trust wishes to see
St. Brigid's stabilized and maintained in public use. Lack of compliance with the easement agreement may make any transfer
of the property extremely challenging.
Msgr. Beach responded that the Archdiocese was also concerned with the condition and that for reasons which are
practical as well as pastoral, the Archbishop announced in May that the St. Brigid's parish community would be amalgamated
with the Cathedral parish community and that the Archdiocese would seek a sale or transfer of the property to a new use and
to a new owner who would respect the heritage nature of the property. The letter concluded that should the Trust be interested
in acquiring the property, the Archdiocese would be open to discussing the matter. Both letters have been turned
over to the lawyers, who are in communication. It has also been requested that for next wednesday's meeting a proposal be
drawn up that St. Brigid's will present of the future use of the church. It will also include the proposal for the rectory
as well as alternate supportive uses of the church. It was also determined that a letter be written to Msgr. Beach that
urgent action be taken on resolving the impasse of the monies for the replacement of the roof.
The meeting next wednesday was discussed. Little knowledge is known of the intent. Msgr. Beach will be
called to determine the agenda. It is intended that we have them support our cause. A reminder for the Pancake Breakfast
on October 22 in the hall and the evening prior at Blessed Sacrament for the ceili.
The Election process is almost complete and we will be discussing it with Fr. Tim and it will be announced
next week.
The meeting next wednesday with Msgr. Beach will be announced by Fr. Tim and a notice put in the
bulletin as well.

Planning Department for final approval for the $5,000 grant.
