November 2006

Sunday, November 19 (11:00-2:00) : 3rd Irish Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale.  Please drop off your baked goods for our Bake Table after the 5:00 Mass on Sat or before the 10:00 Mass on Sunday.    You are also reminded that there will be a Ceili at Blessed Sacrament Church Hall starting at 8:00 on Saturday, November 18.  A fun time will be had by all at both events!!
UPDATE on this bake sale We thank all those who contributed to our Bake Table - everything sold out very quickly and we were able to turn over $232 to St. Brigid's Fund!!

Sunday, November 26, at the 10:00 Mass on the Feast of Christ the King, we will be welcoming back those who received their sacraments (i.e., Baptisms, First Communion/Confirmation, Marriages, RCIA) over the past year at St. Brigid's.  The students of St. Brigid's School have also been invited to attend this special Mass.  All will be invited to a reception in the hall after the Mass.  Please invite your friends and relatives to join you this Sunday.

December 2006

Saturday, December 2 and  Sunday, December 3: Annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale (Please see this past Sunday's bulletin for suitable items needed for the sale.)  We will also need a number of volunteers to work at this event -- please see Edie Carty (tel: 613-241-5967) to sign up for either or both days.  We sincerely hope that you will help make this one of our best Christmas bazaars at St. Brigid's!!   Flyers are now available which you can pass along to your friends or post on your nearest bulletin board, etc.

If you have any containers which we can use to display/sell our baked goods, could you please drop them off at the kitchen Wed evening or after Sunday's 10:00 Mass.  All donations of baked goods for either/both bake sales (the Christmas one will be on a larger scale) will be greatly appreciated.

January 2007

St. Brigid's Parish Council is deeply moved by everyone's support over Christmas, especially supporters of the St. Eleanor Fund, and wish to thank you for your generosity.  A special thank you to all the volunteers who shared their time working for St. Brigid over the holiday season. We pray nothing but the best for all of you in 2007.  God Bless.

The Traditional Irish Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale are scheduled for January 21st at 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM.

You'll find it to be very light hearted and loads of fun - not to mention that the pancakes are truly great! (from what people say). Celtic musicians come in from all over Ottawa to perform!  There are so many volunteers who help make this a real blast (and successful fundraiser for the parish). So please come and enjoy the day with us and help us make this breakfast our biggest before Feb 14th!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 27:  "WORK PARTY" DAY
It was discussed at our last meeting that we would continue cleaning and tidying up the church and Jan 27 was the date decided on.  Sign-up sheets were placed at the back of the church during last weekend's Masses.  Not many people signed up - so we will decide at this week's meeting if this will be held this Saturday or postponed to February.  We will try and get an announcement in this weekend's bulletin.
