SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 18: PANCAKE BREAKFAST:
Please join us for our 6th Traditional Irish Pancake Breakfast from 11:00 until 2:00
in the main hall of St. Brigid's. You are encouraged to invite your neighbours, friends and
relatives to join us for a wonderful breakfast ($5.00 includes pancakes, ham, juice, coffee/tea) and listen (sing
or dance) to great Celtic music by some of the best musicians in the Ottawa area! We trust you won't be disappointed
as there will be good food, good music and a great way to 'share the joy' with our fellow parishioners and guests!!
All proceeds will go for the upkeep of St. Brigid's Church.

THURSDAY,
FEBRUARY 1: FEAST OF ST. BRIGID OF IRELAND, our patron Saint.
As you may already know, February 1 is the feast day of the patron
saint of our beautiful church. We invite all who are able to participate in the Mass which will be celebrated
by Father Tim at 12:15 p.m.; and then from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m., the church will be open to
all who wish to honour St. Brigid through silent prayer and meditation. We encourage you to come
and spend some time with the Lord in thanksgiving for what He has given us for the past 116 years and to pray silently together for
the future of St. Brigid's Church - that it remain as a Roman Catholic church - and pray that our faithful parish community
can stay together.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2: FIRST FRIDAY AND FIRST
SATURDAY.
Overnight vigil - adoration, rosary, prayers and silent prayer
- will take place next Friday, beginning at 8:00 p.m. and ending with Mass on Saturday, Feb 3, at 7:00 a.m.. All
are invited to come and spend some time with the Lord.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4: OUR
ANNUAL ST. BRIGID'S DAY CELEBRATION: A wonderful "Irish" celebration of good
food and music will take place on Sunday, February 4, in the Parish Hall after the 10:00 Mass until
2:00 p.m.. This will be a "pot-luck" event in which all parishioners are asked to bring their favourite
cold dish, hot dish, sandwiches or dessert . We are also inviting former parishioners and non-parishioners
to join us in this celebration. Free-will offering will be donated to the upkeep of St. Brigid's. It promises
to be another enjoyable event for folks of all ages!!

THURSDAY, MARCH 1:
Tonight, the first in a series of four presentations on "Building and Sustaining a Christian Community"
by Father Tim Amyot will
be held at 7:00 p.m., in the church hall.
FRIDAY, MARCH 2:
FIRST FRIDAY vigil begins at 8:00 P.M. in the church and will end with Mass at 7:00 A.M.
on FIRST SATURDAY, March 3. Come and pray with fellow parishioners for the future of St. Brigid's Church and
our parish community.
SATURDAY, MARCH 10:
All parishioners are invited, once again (St. Brigid's 7th year in the parade), to participate in this year's St.
Patrick's Day Parade by walking, riding in the horse-drawn wagon (from Cundell's) or sitting in a heated OC Transpo
bus which will follow the wagon. We will also need volunteers to walk in the parade while carrying our banners.
Sign up sheets will be on the tables at the back of the church this weekend. We want to see
as many people (of ALL ages) as possible participating and showing the city of Ottawa and the Irish community
that we are a proud and viable parish! The parade commences at 10:00 a.m. from City
Hall (Laurier and Elgin). In the evening, after the 5:00 Mass, we invite people to come to the hall to set up
tables and decorate the hall for Sunday's annual event!!
SUNDAY, MARCH 11:
This is the day that the ladies of the Hospitality Committee turn over the kitchen to the men of the parish.
They will serve up some traditional Irish Stew and there will be lots of singing and dancing to enjoy! A
fun time will be had by all !! The ladies of the parish are invited to bring in their favourite dessert. Free-will
offering (minimum of $5.00) will be collected.
SUNDAY, MARCH 18: Our "Traditional
Irish Pancake Breakfast" will be held following the 10:00 Mass. Invite your family and friends to join you
at this wonderful breakfast. And for those with a "sweet tooth", don't forget our BAKE SALE, too!!
Baked goods can be dropped off at the kitchen following 5:00 Mass on Saturday, March 17 or before the 10:00 Mass on Sunday,
March 18. All proceeds will go for the upkeep of St. Brigid's Church.

"The March 18th pancake breakfast was another great success. The crew from A Channel visited so we are appreciative
of that. Our bake table did extremely well - again - so we would therefore like to pass on a very sincere thank you
to everyone who worked so hard at baking supplies for the bake sale table. You all made us very proud. Our next breakfast
and bake sale is scheduled for April 15th 11am. Click on the poster below"

Family and friends of Jack Bingham, along with parishioners of St. Brigid's, gathered April 24,
2007 to pay their last respects and to say goodbye to a dearly loved brother, uncle, friend,
life-long resident of LowerTown and a family parishioner of St. Brigid's since the church was built.
